The future Disney actress debuted on the PBS show Barney and Friends until she was recruited by Disney at the age of 12. Gomez guest-starred on the show The Suite Life of Zach and Cody for one episode and she made her feature-length film debut as a "the girl in the water park", Robert Rodriguez film Spy Kids 3D: Game Over. From there, young Gomez guest-starred in three episodes of Miley Cyrus' Disney popular Disney show, Hannah Montana, where she played Hannah's rival Mikayla.
